University Jean Price-Mars (UJPM)

Almost all universities in Port-au-Prince were destroyed by the earthquake of 12 January 2010, leaving thousands of students and teachers in the rubble.

The need to continue their university education is essential for young survivors. To sustainably meet their needs, to promote the formation and implementation of qualified professionals in the Central Plateau, we decided to open a university in Hinche.

The subjects taught since April 2010, are business management, accounting, engineering, architecture, agronomy, nursing and business law. The lessons are given by a subsidiary Hinche University Jean Price-Mars, including Jean Claude François was appointed the rector of the University.

The construction of a campus is nearing completion in a 10-hectare park. UJPM Hinche soon have a structure that can accommodate 6 faculties and 6000 students.
